Every other oat cereal I tried tasted like hay or worse. Well the search is over. This cereal has great flavor and none of the unnecessary additives. It is crunchy or, if you prefer less crunch, use warm milk and they become chewey, not soggy. You can eat all you want without worrying about loading up on junk. My wife and I eat it all the time. I order it by the case from Amazon and you cannot beat the price. If you like oat cereals, this is it.

We went gluten free about 2 years ago and about 75% of the baked goods recipes I have tried did not work out in texture or taste. Then I read somewhere about substituting coconut flour for up to 20% of the flour in regular recipes and wondered if it would work for gluten free. It does! It gives more lift to baked goods like muffins, and adds a slight nutty flavor. One thing to be aware of is that it is moisture happy. It soaks up liquid like kitty litter, so adding a little more water or oil or whatever liquid is in the recipe is helpful. It is also helpful to let the baked goods sit a day before consuming. I'm not sure why, but this has been the case with everything I have made. It tastes "eh" the first day, and fabulous the next.

My son,(who is the one on the GFCF diet), is extremely picky and suspicious of anything new, ate these muffins without hesitating. I sometimes poke a hole in the middle and serve as a 'bagel'. These are a regular staple in our house.

(More customer reviews)FYI, a single serving size is 1/4 cup (42g) and provides 4g of dietary fiber. Not thinking, I followed the cooking directions - 3 1/4 cup of water and 1 cup of cereal. According to the directions, it makes 3 1/2 cups - 14 servings or more. I was about to eat 1/2 cup to 1 cup of cereal until half way through I reread the packaging and realized that would be 8-16 g of fiber at once - a bit much for me.
It reminds me a little bit of grits in both texture and flavor, and it _is_ very tasty.

After that, Amazon changed the bundle so that one must buy 6 boxes at a time, which is way too much. Also, the last shipment of crackers I received were expired. I only noticed that after I had gone through half of them wondering why they were stale. Make sure yours are not expired before you eat them. The crackers are tasty. I prefer the pumpkin cheese, but the overall experience has been meteocre.

(More customer reviews)My doctor recommended I go on a wheat free diet for a time. I also was looking for a cereal with a lot of oat fiber for its anti-cholesterol properties. I was shocked to find it nearly impossible to find a cold, oat cereal that does not have wheat in it.
Amazon's description of this product says it contains whole oats, corn, crispy rice and soy flakes. Well, the chief ingredient of their "soy flakes" is WHEAT GLUTEN!
Yes it tastes good, because it is a pile of sugar.
This cereal has 14 grams of sugar per HALF cup!! That is twice as much as Kellog's Sugar Corn Pops and almost twice as much as their Frosted Flakes!!! Who do you know that only eats 1/2 cup of cereal in a typical meal? Even if you limit yourself to a small bowl of 1 cup of htis stuff you are pouring 28 grams of sugar down your throat.
To me, that means any health benefits from the protein or fiber is completely overwhelmed by the fact it has so much refined sugar that it qualifies as being poisonous!!!!

(More customer reviews)This mix saved my life. After being diagnosed with celiac disease, I tried all the "great" gluten-free bread machine recipes I could find (I am awful at baking bread by hand). They were all uniformly and unequivocally TERRIBLE. They were dense, didn't rise properly, caved in at the top or sides, etc etc etc. They also all tasted very gluten-free.
This mix, though is wonderful. It rises, sticks together very well for a fluffy gluten-free bread (it still has the tendancy to fall apart if not toasted), makes wonderful croutons and stuffing, browns properly and only occasionally caves in a little bit.
Things I have learned with this mix that help it a great deal:
1. Let the loaf sit in the bread machine for at least 20 minutes after it stops baking. (I have the standard Oster bread machine that was popular when the bread machine rose to popularity.)
2. Make it with rice milk. To me, cow's milk and almond milk taste funny with this recipe.
3. Let it cool for a good long while, it is very moist and will fall apart if you try to slice it immediately.

I have made one myself using a variety of flours, but it still doesn't have that whole grain taste/mouth feel.
When I tried this bread after making it in my bread machine, I almost cried. It was delicious, texture was heavenly, and it was simple to make! Cheap too, especially if you sign up for the automatic reorder deal.
It doesn't seem gluten free and it actually has a decent amount of fiber in it.

(More customer reviews)It really stinks that eating the healthiest foods costs the most but in my opinion, it's worth it. I love these cereals. The first case I bought from amazon was the original and I wound up eating it for breakfast, snacks, lunch, whenever, without milk or adding anything... I love the crunch and the taste. I actually ate the whole case in about 2 weeks and very little else... and it is amazing that I didn't gain weight, my bms were much better, and I had great energy and felt well- my body was craving it. Try that on Coco Puffs, Cornflakes, and even any of the other "healthy" cereals in the healthfood stores!
I actually make my own sprouted grain breads and crackers which I could easily break up to make this type of cereal- there is nothing in the world like it, but it takes 2 days of sprouting and a couple of hours to complete the food processing and spreading on the baking sheet process, and then 3-4 hours of low-heat baking. So when I don't have time to do this, a very close second are the Ezekiel products (their bread, english muffins, cereals, and pastas).
Anyone who makes health their top priority will eat very little of non-sprouted grain products (flour products). For those interested, Amazon sells a book called the Essene Gospel of Peace which contains writings found in the Vatican archives- in this little book, Jesus teaches his followers how to make bread, and it has nothing to do with taking the dry grain and grinding it up into flour and using yeast- he teaches them to soak the grain, let the sun bring it to life, grind it up alive, and then let the sun bake it. That makes the only truly living, healthful breads and cereals.
Yes, these products will feel and taste different than most are used to, but the more one eats this type of real food, the more the body starts remembering and then one begins to really enjoy the taste and textures because they equate to life and health. :)

(More customer reviews)Originally, I felt the same way the other reviewer did about these, but then my boyfriend told me to add about a tablespoon of oil to the water (maybe a little more) as they were cooking and they weren't all clumpy and sticky anymore. They work great for me as I can't eat gluten and brown rice pasta seems to raise my blood sugar more than I'd like. The corn in quinoa pasta is out for me too! Allergies. This is a perfect alternative so I'd highly recommend it. It tastes good in stir fries and with tomato sauce!
Update: Oddly, I did the oil thing and they still got clumpy this past time. We discovered if you rinse them with water while they are in the strainer, as soon as you take them out of the pot, they separate and are perfectly normal again. Hope this helps!

Namaste is the bread my husband always tells me is the tastiest, although he has no idea which brand he is eating. I add ground nuts and some almond flour to all bread mixes because he preferred whole wheat bread before the GF diet. The nuts make the texture more like whole wheat. I have used walnuts, pecans and almonds chopped in a small processor.

Recipe cannot be easier:
- 3 large eggs,
- 2 tbs of fructose or honey (can be substituted with sugar),
- 4 cups of spring water,
- 2 + (1/4) cup of teff flour,
- 1/2 tsp of baking soda + 2 tsp of freshly squeezed lemon juice (you can add this mix at the end as a multi-purpose rising agent for any baking).
Usually I use two 10" frying pans at once to make flat pancakes as fast as possible.
