I find that eating only 1/4 cup for a snack satisfies my hunger without high calorie intake. This amount provides me with a whopping 14 grams of protein and 8 grams of fiber. The taste is just salty enough. I like this snack since it fits in with my WW lifestyle with only two points for this serving.

(More customer reviews)There are arguments back and forth about the nutritional benefits of many products, but oatmeal isn't one of them. Most people have heard that "daily consumption of a bowl of oatmeal can lower your blood cholesterol and, when combined with a low-fat diet, may reduce the risk of heart disease." If you want a variety that will satisfy every member of your family the assortment in this box should easily accomplish that goal. In this box there are seven packages of the original (plain), sixteen maple syrup, twelve apples and cinnamon, ten cinnamon roll, and ten chocolate chip. Taste wise they are comparable to the best of the name brands.
When I select an original packet I tend to add an assortment of small fruit bits from plumped raisins, sweetened dried cranberries, to blueberries. Children love the chocolate chip packets, but I find them to be a bit too sweet for my taste as I do not add sugar to any cereal and the added organic cane sugar makes this particular selection somewhat "candyish."
The sodium levels (sea salt is used) are reasonable and certainly don't come close to what is in canned soup these days. This product is certified organic by Oregon TLTH (OTCO). I like several things about this oatmeal from the use of whole grain oats, the organic materials, to the excellent flavor. The expiration date, on my most recent purchase, is fourteen months hence. Below you'll find an abbreviated list of nutritional facts.
NOTE: This product is packaged in a plant that "also packages products that contain milk, soy, and wheat." The Cinnamon Roll packages contain milk and the Chocolate Chip contain soy and milk.

(More customer reviews)I buy organic cranberry beans in 25-50 lb lots. They are a staple in our household. I had hoped to buy some from Barry Farm, and assumed - from their name - that they grew them. After all, they are a "farm," right? Understanding that some "organic" beans come from China, I thought I would call Barry Farms to confirm the country of origin for their beans. The female who took my call told me that they don't know where these beans come from since they get them from a distributor (so much for the "farm" in "Barry Farms"). I asked if she could give me the contact information for the distributor so that I could ask them directly. Her answer: "no". I asked if THEY could find out from the distributor where these beans come from. Her answer: "no". Thanks, but I'll do my business elsewhere.
UPDATE: I ended up buying from Italian Harvest - a dot com.
SECOND UPDATE: Italian Harvest no longer has an organic Borlotti/Cranberry bean, so this year I purchased from Purcell Mountain Farms, and am very pleased with their product.

The sugary taste and texture of this brand of dried strawberries makes me feel like I'm eating candied strawberries. This wasn't what I expected from the description. I should have paid more attention to the other review that complains of over-sweetening. Don't buy these, unless you want to eat strawberry candy; buy another brand which lets you enjoy the natural strawberry flavor and texture more.

(More customer reviews)I have been a fan of Nature Valley granola bars for years. They come in many varieties. My favorites lately have been the Pecan Crunch and Peanut Butter bars. So, I was pleased to learn that Amazon now offers the bars in their many different types.
Certainly, Oats and Honey are a classic combination. Oats go way back. Samuel Johnson included a definition of oats in his 1755 Dictionary of the English Language. I have adapted liberally from his definition for my title. Actually, Samuel Johnson said: "Oats: A grain, which in England is generally given to horses, but in Scotland appears to support the people." Little did he know that two and a half centuries later, England's colonial offspring would enthusiastically endorse oats as a food for people.
Earlier this month, I spent a week skiing in Colorado at Vail, The ticket counters were equipped with baskets of the Oats and Honey bars provided free of charge. It was a nice gesture considering the almost $100 daily ticket price. The granola bars pack nearly 100 calories for a single bar, and obviously double that for a two-bar pack.
I took the Oats bars with me skiing, but I also depend on them for hiking. An extra 200 calories is what you may need to give you enough energy to get up the last 200 feet to a mountain summit. The taste is good. They do not melt. If you get tired of the Oats, there is always a choice: Pecan, Almond, or Peanut Butter, to provide variety.

For the uninitiated, seaweed snacks are made from Porphyra, a type of red algae (same stuff that sushi nori are made of). Korean seaweed is then roasted with oil and sprinkled with salt, resulting in a light and crispy snack that makes a nice crunch in your mouth when you bite into it. This particular variety is a favorite with my brother and his wife. Every time they go to the Chinese supermarket, they buy several packs of Choripdong.
It's healthy and nutritious, with the only gotcha being the salt specks. I usually wrap some over a lump of rice, making a filling and very cheap meal when I'm too tired or lazy to cook.

The price here is far cheaper than what any of my grocery stores or discount department stores offer. With a discount and a coupon, I can get about the same price as here on Amazon. But I don't always have a coupon and they're not always discounted... I have a Prime membership so shipping isn't a concern. I did worry a bit about having a box of cracker crumbs... and that wasn't the case at all. They were as intact as if I'd purchased them from the grocery store shelf. If you're a fan of Cheez-Its, this is a pretty good way to keep them in your cupboard.

The only problem with this is that even in bulk Amazon is expensive. When they are on sale it's usually 2 dollars per box so the equivalent quantity to what they offer here is 12 boxes which would be 24 dollars. Amazon is selling it for 33 dollars.
