(More customer reviews)I have been using this for about 6 years - my boys all love it! I chose to start them on Almond Milk instead of Cow's milk as babies, so the flavor to them is completely normal. It's not exactly what I want to put on my cereal or in my coffee. My kids love it on the cereal or in their oatmeal. I frequently bake with it, and I have found the consistency to be an excellent alternative to dairy.
I pay $1.69 for 1 32 oz container at Trader Joes. Don't be suckered into paying $48 for a 12 pack! That's over $4 a container... what a rip-off!

(More customer reviews)I have tried other brands of sunflower seed butter spread, and this is the best brand. SunButter comes the closest to tasting like peanutbutter, from what I can remember (been years since I was diagnosed with severe intolerance to nuts and peanuts).
This brand has a good balance between salty and sweet, and has a roasted seed flavor that gives it the little extra yumminess. Other brands taste flat compared to Sunbutter.
I eat this on fruit (apples & bananas & some cinnamon), toast, rice cakes, soy cream, smoothies, sandwiches, and by itself on a spoon. Makes me feel like I have one less "hole" in my diet, and a great protein treat to boot!

(More customer reviews)The other review listed here mentioned creamy oatmeal, so I'm assuming that person is not on a gluten-free diet. Those of us who are familiar with a gf lifestyle would find that this instant quinoa cereal offers good nutrition compared to rice cereals (6 g protein), low sugar (9g), and also the nutrients that are found in quinoa (lots). Also, I believe tastebuds change once you are completely gluten-free, so this wouldn't have the offending texture the other reviewer mentioned to a gf person. My 10-year old daughter likes this cereal, and it sure is a lot more healthy than the gluten free cold cereals, rice bagels, or muffins out there.

(More customer reviews)I have been using nutritional yeast for years, almost every single day, and it not only tastes great but is incredibly nutritious. Our three year old son loves it, and especially likes sprinkling it on pasta--I think he feels empowered, and little does he know that he's literally sprinkling nutrition on his food.
You can sprinkle this on popcorn or other snack foods to impart a cheesy taste, add a tablespoon to smoothies, pasta sauce, bread, or just about any other savory food. If you're looking for a cookbook with recipes that use this, try The New Farm Vegetarian Cookbook. It's a little hipped out, but there's a recipe for nutritional yeast cheese that's pretty amazing. There's also The Ultimate Uncheese Cookbook: Delicious Dairy-Free Cheeses and Classic "Uncheese" Dishes, but I would try the Farm cookbook first.
Lastly, these are large flakes, but Frontier Coop online offers 1 pound bags of Nutritional Yeast "mini flakes" which have a finer consistency and sprinkle well from a container with tiny holes (like the kind used to sprinkle powdered sugar). Frontier's prices are also very reasonable, and they offer organic nutritional yeast as well.
