(More customer reviews)I love this company! Their products are always fresh and delicious. The hemp seeds are wonderful and versatile, and I make all kinds of recipes with them. I like buying the big bucket of their hemp seeds because I use them in shakes, smoothies, eaten plain, added to trail mix, sprinkled on salad, and I even make many Raw vegan desserts, soups, and pates with them. I keep them stored in the freezer for extra freshness. This super food's nutrient profile is awesome... highly digestible complete protein, essential fatty acids in a great ratio, iron, calcium, vitamin E, zinc, chlorophyll, and other nutrients.
Just the other day I created a Raw Vegan Frozen Banana Protein Shake by blending 1 cup water, 3 sm-med frozen bananas (chopped), 1 Tablespoon raw carob (optional), 2 Tablespoons Manitoba Harvest Hemp Seeds, and 4 Tablespoons Manitoba Harvest Protein Powder. It was so yummy that I made a second one in the same day and I'm getting ready to make another right now.

(More customer reviews)I will start by saying that I feel all hemp protein is gritty, and a bit hard to swallow. I was really happy with the Vanilla spice. It has been the best hemp powder I have tried to date. It has a wonderful sweet vanilla flavor, and is finely ground, so it's not as chalky as others. I usually buy Nutiva(which is also good) but to me this is much better. I mix it in a glass of soy or almond milk with breakfast. I would not recommend mixing this product with plain water. I love the benefits of hemp protein. I have already placed an order for my second container!

(More customer reviews)I buy Hemp Pro 70 because it has the highest concentration of hemp protein that I've been able to find in any of the hemp protein powders. I use it primarily in smoothies. It does not alter the flavor of the smoothie at all, as far as I can tell. Nominally, it's a relatively expensive product but when compared to others, in real economic terms for the amount of protein per ounce it's a decent price. Everything is expensive nowadays. If you're into being healthy though you know that what you put into your body is not the place to cut corners on spending. After all, "we are what we eat".

(More customer reviews)This definitely has to be mixed with something to make it tolerable, and I think it may take a few tries to get used to it. I mix it with protein shakes; the flavors of the protein shakes fortunately dominate vs. the taste of the hemp powder. It's a little weird drinking a concoction that looks green but tastes like banana, but the health benefits are worth it to me. It is gritty however. At first I tried it plain and had to basically choke it down, but I guess it's grown on me. Bottom line: if you're dedicated to finding a good vegan source of protein and other nutrition, it's worth a try to experiment with it by adding it to smoothies and other recipes.

(More customer reviews)I just wanted to add to my review below that I tried the other reviewer's recipe for a chocolate-banana shake, and it was really delicious (I made it with almond milk).

First of all I should mention that this product does not contain any narcotic compounds. From Manitoba's web site: "Hemp contains a fraction of the psychoactive compound, Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) that Marijuana does...all Manitoba Harvest(tm) products have 0.00% THC."
This protein powder has been a great addition to my diet. I have a very fast metabolism so I need extra protein in order to stay healthy and feel good. I think this is healthier than the weigh protein I was taking before and I feel better eating it. I think in general vegetable protein is a better choice, and it may be better for achieving/maintaining your ideal body weight, whether you are underweight or overweight (especially if you also exercise regularly).
I first started using this powder over a month ago and I find that it is best when used in shakes. It is also good as a snack mixed with plain yogurt and stevia (a natural sweetener). The taste is good in my opinion, though I have to admit I did like the taste of my weigh protein powder better. In the shakes I barely notice the difference, however, in spite of the slightly green color (the powder is green). The Chlorophyll and everything else in it is extremely healthy, and I think it's a great choice for anyone concerned about nutrition.
I recommend drinking the protein shakes at least 20 min. apart from carbs. I also would have to caution that the other reviewer's recommendation about buying the kind with added fiber may not be best for everyone. If you already have plenty of fiber in your diet, adding that much additional fiber could act as a laxative.

(More customer reviews)I really enjoy the hemp hearts. I have come to crave them. I am always looking for a good deal and this is indeed a great price for the qty. These come to abt 3 to 5 dollars less per lb. than what I can get locally. If I use auto ship it is 5 to 7 dollars less. My only complaint is the hulls of the 3 brands I have tried this has by far the most hulls and the only one with intact seeds. I doesn't take much to de-hull them but, it is time consuming. I realize "hulls are a good source of fiber" but, my teeth do not agree. I am tempted to pay a little more for less. If this is something that doesn't bother you I urge you to get it.
